Canggu Beach Guide: 6 Hidden Beaches That Are Worth A Visit

January 26, 2022

Canggu Beach, in 2017, was chosen among CNN’s “World’s 100 Best Beaches” in position no 39. The beaches are located in the Village of Canggu, North Kuta. It’s quite close to Legian beach. Canggu itself offers a wide stretch of beautiful black sand beaches that are famous for surfing.

Sunsets at Canggu can offer visitors a surreal experience.  If you are not a surfer, be sure to visit Canggu beach to let your eyes feast on the beautiful sunset. For the most part, Canggu is still quite a rural area.  That means visitors will still be able to experience the simple Balinese village way of life. To top it all off, it’s only 25 minutes from Tanah Lot temple and about 20 minutes to Semiinyak. Great, right? Stay tuned to find out 5 beaches in Bali that are worth visiting.

Berawa Beach

Berawa beach is definitely one of the most-visited beaches in Canggu. It has the most iconic black sand that originates from the volcanic activity in Bali. If you’re into surfing, Berawa is a good place to go. Check this beach out if you are an intermediate to advanced surfer. This is because there are a few rips and bigger waves that you should be careful of, which also means this isn’t the best place to swim.

Batu Bolong Beach

This beach has a wide range of restaurants and bars, villas, as well as that shimmering black sand. It’s one of the most popular beaches in Canggu, but still one of the quieter ones. The water at Batu Bolong beach is much calmer than at Berawa beach, making it the place to go if you’re looking to swim. Occasionally you’ll even see a few kite surfers enjoying the waves there. Here is the map for Batu Bolong Beach you can use to guide yourself there.

Batu Belig Beach

Batu Belig is a hidden gem for an obvious reason – not many people know about it. It’s located right beside Seminyak, which is about a 5-10 minute drive. Technically, it’s a beach that’s located in between Canggu and Seminyak. But hey, it’s still worth a visit. Batu Belig is a lovely white sand beach compared to all the other three. It has a couple of beach bars to grab a coconut or two. To find the Batu Belig Beach, we have prepared the maps for you to use! Here!

Seseh Beach

Also known as Canggu’s surfing paradise is Seseh beach. It’s located northwest of Seminyak, but still a short distance from Tanah Lot temple. Seseh beach is a seaside village with some amazing luxury villas. There’s also a relaxing view of rice paddies around the village. It’s still a pretty quiet beach, with occasional surfers enjoying the fast and big waves. However, it’s not the best place to find a meal, so better head out to Seminyak or Canggu to grab a bite. Here is the map to reach Canggu’s surfing paradise.
