Moringga Holiday: Jungle and Valley Views in Tegalalang, Bali
Wake up to birdsong. Spend the evenings watching the light change over the jungle.
Moringga Holiday is a small retreat of private units on the edge of a jungle canyon in Taro, Tegalalang. Green hillside and valley fill the view in front of you, and the only sounds are the ones nature makes. Ubud is about 30 minutes away, close enough to visit and far enough that you will barely think about it. This is a place for couples and nature lovers who want to slow down, and it makes that easy.
Choose Your Stay: Uphill or Downhill
There are two types of unit, set at different levels of the hillside. Every unit sleeps a maximum of two guests, so the choice comes down to how you want to see the hill. Higher up at the uphill units, with the bigger view. From higher on the property, the uphill units look out over the hill in front of them with a wide, elevated outlook. They are also closer to the pool, so a swim is only a short walk away. Choose these if you want to take in the whole landscape at once.
Closer to the valley in downhill units, with a bath in the open air. Set lower on the property, the downhill unit puts you right next to the hillside. Its outdoor bathtub lets you soak in the open with the greenery all around you. It is the only unit of its kind, so it suits anyone planning a special trip.
The Infinity Pool: The Heart of the Stay
All guests share one infinity pool, and it is the first thing most people enjoy, especially who love to photograph. The pool edge is framed by stone and a wooden deck, with tall trees and greenery around it. The jungle canopy stretches out beyond the water, and at golden hour the sky and trees reflect on the surface so that the pool seems to carry on into the forest.
Swim in the morning, float in the afternoon, and come back at the end of the day when the light turns amber. Pools are rare in this part of Bali, and few have a view like this one.
Dine Outdoors
A shared outdoor dining area is open to all guests, set among the greenery. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be prepared on request for an extra charge, so you can eat in without leaving the property. A slow breakfast with the hillside in front of you is a good way to start the day.
