Gianyar Anniversary
The 2019 Anniversary, Gianyar Regency carried the theme ‘Environmentally Friendly.’
Gianyar Regency Government during this anniversary forbade the use of plastics of all types or other materials that cannot decompose quickly and are not environmentally friendly during staging, parades, and activities. They mentioned that basically, in every event, they tried with an environmentally friendly concept. In addition to banning the use of similar-type (inorganic) plastic, the arts committee also does not include car decorative arts because it will drain large costs and potentially use inorganic materials as well.
This is in accordance with the order of the Regent, who advised to reduce the use of plastic, Styrofoam and other materials alike. Apart from being environmentally friendly, the cultural parade was also packed differently from the previous year. The difference is each sub-district must present the March parade as well. So, the performing arts are good to watch from all directions. This is to provide satisfaction for the entire audience. It is also expected, the work of each sub-district to display the typical Rejang Line Dance of the participating villages. This is to preserve the line dance performance so that it does not become extinct.
Each sub-district was also asked to perform a colossal art, which was arranged and organized from a special art in the village of the sub-district. All this is to preserve and introduce the valuable art treasures in each sub-district. The cultural parade was held on May 1, 2019, considering that on April 17 the General Election took place. The Government of Gianyar Regency at this time gave much more space so that the artists of each sub-district had the opportunity to create the best of their own.
This is especially the packaging of typical village performing arts, but it can be performed in a parade on the road and it is nice to watch it from all directions. In this anniversary, there was also an art competition for 15-year-old teenagers, puppet art performance, line dance performances, traditional musical performances, and Jauk dance. There were other competitions as well including Balinese pop song competitions and Beleganjur Gamelan Performance. Most importantly The Beleganjur will be projected to represent Gianyar at the upcoming Bali Art Festival in Denpasar.
