If you have visited Bali several times, you may know that some of the Balinese areas are modern already and the other ones modern-traditional areas. But, how about walking down in an ancient Balinese village in Bali where everything is purely traditional?
Tenganan village is one of the oldest villages on the island that still preserve the real Balinese culture and way of life. The local people who live in this village are named Bali Aga (the original Balinese) who already existed before the arrival of Javanese Hindus. This village is almost free of any outside influences.
You can see the difference between this village and other villages in Bali from their language, architecture, village layout, and artistic craft. One of the most famous crafts is the Gringsing fabric. The process of crafting this Gringsing fabric is very unique. It uses a double tie technique that is not found in other places in Indonesia.
Once you step up your feet in this ancient village, you will have precious experiences with your sweetheart. Walking around and exploring the village is exciting to do. The ambiance is calming the mind and soul. The traditional houses are enchanting with a small door, palm roof, and wooden floor.
Here you can see the process of weaving the Gringsing fabric and other handicrafts. If you love it, you can buy some handicrafts for souvenirs. Come to this place, and you will see how the original Balinese culture and life look like.

The one and only place on the island to see the endangered wildlife is Taman Nasional Bali Barat (West Bali National Park). This park is well-known for the rarest birds on earth named Jalak Bali (The Bali Starling) that you can only find here.
The Bali starling is one of the reasons this park is built. The Taman Nasional Bali Barat was built by Dutch in 1941 to protect the endangered Bali starling and the last remaining wild banteng. This park area covers 19.000 ha which includes 7.000 hectares of coral reef and coastal water.
